CHANGES TO MY BLOG & MY NEW VENTURE WITH MARK.

I am super excited to tell you, in the process of doing the 31 days to better blogging...I have decided to make some positive changes in my life and on my blog. :D As most of you may already know, I am a stay at home Mom and have been running an online Fashion business called Forever A Teen for over 7 years now. I LOVE IT! Here is a link to my other blog for that store. (Forever A Teen Fashion Finds)  I have been able to be there for my kids and run a business both. God sure has been good to me. This will not change. I still will be doing my other business. Love it to much to quit.

Well, recently...I came across a site and fell in love with the products. I feel I am a Mom that is young at heart and these products said me! They were created by Avon in 2003. What is it called?

I love their site and products! So, what did I do? I became a Mark Representative and got a ton of new stuff from mark. Check out my boutique. by clicking this link: (Holly's Boutique for Mark).

What enticed me to sign up? The site I came across was fun and exciting both. I think that is what made me even more interested. She was doing a game and So, I entered. I got 2 purses at AWESOME prices.  I am crazy about games and getting stuff for low prices. So, I signed up. I always said, I would not sign up for something that I had to spend a lot of money on a product to look good. I feel Mark's prices are very reasonable for what you get. So, I signed up, created my boutique (Holly's Boutique for Mark) and then created my fun Facebook fan page called (MARK.MY.FaShIoN) Check it out and become a fan!  I then signed up for Twitter to. :D MARKMYFaShIoN

Now about the changes to my blog. I have decided to make this blog about Fashion (Which I love) Savings (with Mark), Games & Giveaways (to make it fun), Family Talk, Faith and anything else fun I come up with. I want you to love my site and the products I share.

What I hope you get out of this site?
Sometimes as Mom's we lose who we are. Well, I hope that I can help you to change that. It's time to find who we are and make some positve changes. It's time to get our confidence back.

I still will be sharing other things that are working for my family (budgeting, Savings, Family stuff) most under Family happenings. I want you to get to know me as a person as I would also love to get to know you to. Time for us ladies to feel BEAUTFUL at any age! I'm 40 and I still feel like I'm younger. It's all in our heads. No, I'm not out to look like a teenager (I have two of my own) but, I am out to look and feel as young as I can...as long as I can. Confidence is what helps us to be better Mom's. We can show our confidence and encourage our kids to be more confident to.
But, first we need to work on us!

I appreciate you reading my post and hope you love my new blog and the changes I am making. Don't forget to visit my boutique. You will love it! (Holly's Boutique for Mark).

COUPON SAVINGS BUT FREE

So, I walked into Family Dollar yesterday. I really had no plan of coming across a free item. The manager at the store seen my coupon book. She asked me, "if I had a coupon for Scrub and bubbles refill and holder." I grabbed my book and looked. I had it! It was $4.00 off the kit. Well, here is the awesome part of the story. The kit was $4.00. YAY ME! I got my first item for free. Well I did have to pay sales tax but, that was only 24 cents. I know some of you may bet thinking big deal. Well for me it was. That's the first time I have came across an item that was the exact amount of my coupon.

Here's what I got.

Cost $4.00

My Savings $4.00- $4.00 = Free
I only had to pay sales tax of $.24 .
Another thing I found out was, Family Dollar here in Charlotte told me they do price matches with other stores and stacking of coupons.

What is stacking? stacking is using a store coupon and a manufactured coupon together, which equals more savings.

Tip: Check your flyer's and see what's on sale. Then Check your binder with coupons to see if you have a coupon for that item you want. Use them together. If you go to a store that the item is not on sale (like Walmart or Family Dollar). Take in the flyer from that store and price match for savings.

What have you gotten for free?

Please Read:
This is something that worked for me, I can't promise everyone will get the same deal. You need to search yourself for deals, like I did. Check out the store in your area to see what they offer and if they price match. I just got lucky, mine does.

DECORATING ON A BUDGET ~ FEATURED BLOG (HOMES & BABIES)

So, you know I am all about savings. When I come across something I love...I just have to share it. Now onto my find. I am featuring a blog this week called Homes & Babies. I loved her post on Decorating on a budget. She shows how you can take something old and make it new again. She also shows how she took an inherited chair...added a touch of paint and made it look new again. What does this creation become? A Budget savings idea.

Now she could have ran out to the store and bought a brand new chair but, she would have spent a lot more. Kind of like my site Forever A Teen Fashion Finds, I talk a lot about, how it shouldn't cost a lot to look good ( I am referring to fashion) but, the same meaning comes into decorating. It shouldn't cost a lot to make a room look good/better. I am sure there are a ton of other things you could spend that extra money on you save. Maybe a vacation! We all need to be more cost savvy. Let's save some money and start budgeting. If you want to know more about Homes & Babies Blog, check it out. You will love her blog. Read her post/blog.  Take time to save money and add more money to your budget, to pay off bills. Every little bit counts.

Now here are a few of my budget savings ideas.

You can take something simple (like a glass vase) I purchased this from Pier 1 Imports when it was on clearance. The flowers also were on clearance. I don't think I spent more than $20.00 and it gave me a nice corner piece for my living room. ( a touch of red) which I love! This is one of my favorite stores. I could spend hours looking in there. Very relaxing. (That's another idea) Save money and don't spend a time...just browse.

I love this look! I found this at Hobby Lobby.
It was 50% off & grapes were on sale. I only spent a couple of dollars on the red nick knack. It looks like a perfume bottle. I was going for the Italy look. I decorate based on places I want to go, I spent around $25.00 or less on this lot.  I always shop for deals. Don't buy unless it's on sale or clearance. Remember, it will eventually be marked down. If it's gone when you go back to get it, my view is...it wasn't meant for me.

This little number also was on sale. The potpourri was on clearance. I spent around $10.00. Add a little potpourri and it makes the living room smell great. Another great way to save. Sales and Clearance are the way to go. Don't forget...places like Hobby Lobby, offer coupons periodically in their flyer's. You also can sign up for their e mail for deals!

I hope you got some inspiration from this post to save money in your budget.
I love the saying...Spend Less, Save More!
Time to save money now!

I would like to thank Homes & Babies for letting me feature her blog. Don't forget to check out her site. She offers great ideas you will love! She also just posted a dream home. Dreaming is OK. If you are going to dream, why not dream big! :D But, if you are looking for that big beautiful house, remember...stay within your budget!

Now my question to you...how have you saved money within your budget by decorating for less?

HUBBY SAVES ALITTLE ON GROCERIES~ ALITTLE IS BETTER THAN NONE

Super proud of my husband for taking the time to save money at the store. He went to Meijers. I sent him with some coupons. He was more than willing to use them. He paid only $2.26 after saving on what he should have had to pay $15.65
.
1st of all...thank you to Regina Sober (The Crazy Nuts Mom) For sending me some Soft Spread coupons, they were a part of our savings.

MY HUBBY & ME

Here is our grocery receipt.

How did he save?

Coupons he had: $1.00 off 2 boxes of General mills cereal. 1 was on sale for $2.50 and the other was $3.99 regular price. So total with sale savings $7.28- $.79 sale - $1.00 coupon = Total Cost: $5.49Total Savings with coupon and sale: $1.79

$2.00 off  (Manufacturer coupons~Thanks to Regina) 2 tubs of Can't believe it's not butter tubs. & 1 in store coupon $2.00 of 2 Can't believe it's not butter tubs. $5.38 (not on sale) minus $2.00 manufacturer coupon & minus $2.00 in store coupon Total $1.38. Total should have been the $5.38. Savings $4.00

SAVINGS WITH COUPONS: $5.00
TOTAL SALE SAVINGS $.79

The bill should have been $15.65 that for regular price items.

Store sale and coupons added up to $5.79 in savings
Plus, he took back some bottles/cans $7.60 in savings

$15.65- $5.79 - $7.60 = $2.26 (a lot better than $15.65) Total savings $13.39

What can I do with that extra $13.39?
  1. Put it towards credit card debt (if you have any)
  2. Get $5.00 Pizza on Friday at Hungry Howie's
  3. Add it to a vacation fund
Every little bit you save can help with the family budget or fun time. You choose! Thanks Brian (hubby) for taking the time to save.

Have you saved lately? Will your hubby go to the store with coupons?
